Can you share your story of how you started playing football? How did this journey begin?
I started playing football when I was eight years old, after my sports teacher noticed my energy and suggested that I should try training with a boys’ team. I played for two years in Comloșu Mare, the village where I come from, and that experience gave me my first real love for the game. Later, I joined CFR Timișoara, and when that club was dissolved, my journey continued at Politehnica Timișoara.
You play in multiple positions such as right-back, right winger, and defensive midfielder. What are the advantages and challenges of being a versatile player?
Being able to play in several positions is a big advantage because it helps me understand the game from different perspectives. It allows me to read situations faster, find better solutions, and adapt to what the team needs in different moments. The challenge is that every position requires a different mindset, but I believe versatility has made me a more complete and intelligent player.
How did your transfer process to Politehnica Timișoara develop? Which factors influenced your decision to choose this club?
My move to Politehnica Timișoara felt very natural because I practically grew up with this club after CFR Timișoara was dissolved. I joined them as a junior, and over time the club became an important part of my development as a player and as a person. The main reason for choosing Politehnica was the feeling that it was the right environment for me to grow, learn, and take football seriously.
What has been the biggest challenge in your career so far, and how did you overcome it?
The biggest challenge in my career was leaving my village at only 15 years old to continue football at a higher level and study at a sports high school. Being away from my family at such a young age was not easy, but it taught me responsibility, discipline, and independence. Looking back, I am proud that I managed to overcome that period because it made me stronger and more prepared for professional football.
Compared to women’s football leagues across Europe, what do you think are Romania’s strongest aspects and which areas still need improvement?
Romanian women’s football has many talented players, strong motivation, and girls who are willing to work very hard for their dreams. I think the biggest strength is the passion of the players, because many of them continue to push forward even when conditions are not easy. At the same time, the league still needs more investment, better facilities, stronger promotion, and more media attention in order to compete with the best European countries.
Who has been the coach or football figure that has influenced you the most throughout your career?
The first person who truly gave me the chance to believe that football could be my sport was my sports teacher from my village. He recognized something in me at the very beginning, and I will always be grateful for that. But the most important influence in my life has been my family, because their sacrifices and support motivated me to work harder and try to thank them through my success.
What does wearing the Romania National Team jersey mean to you?
Wearing the Romania National Team jersey is one of the greatest honors of my career. For me, it is the reward for years of work, sacrifice, and dedication to becoming a better player every day. Every time I wear that jersey, I feel pride, responsibility, and motivation to represent my country in the best possible way.
What message would you like to give to young girls who dream of becoming professional football players one day?
My message to young girls is to never give up, even when the road becomes difficult. Football requires hard work, patience, and sacrifice, but if you truly love the game, every challenge can make you stronger. Believe in your dreams, stay disciplined, and surround yourself with people who support your growth.
You have already experienced Romanian football, and your profile could be interesting for several leagues abroad. What is your opinion about the Turkish women’s league, its level, atmosphere, and development in recent years?
I think the Turkish women’s league has developed a lot in recent years and has become a very interesting competition for ambitious players. The clubs are investing more, the level is improving, and the passion for football in Turkey creates a special atmosphere that every player can feel. For me, it is definitely a league that looks attractive for the next steps of a career, because it combines competitiveness, emotion, and clear potential for further growth.
Professional football requires discipline, sacrifice, and strong character. What kind of person are you outside the pitch, and what values guide you in everyday life?
Outside the pitch, I am a very ambitious person who does not like to stop until I reach the goals I set for myself. I do not want to stay in my comfort zone, because I believe growth comes from sacrifice, discipline, and courage. In everyday life, I try to be honest, responsible, and loyal to the people who support me.
When you are away from football, what helps you relax, recharge, and stay mentally balanced during a demanding season?
After difficult matches or a demanding season, spending time with my family and friends helps me recharge the most. They give me peace, positive energy, and remind me of who I am outside football. I believe mental balance is very important for every athlete, because when your mind is calm, you can give more on the pitch.
What is one thing fans or people who only watch you on the pitch might not know about you, but that describes you well as a person?
People who only see me on the pitch may not know how much I care about the people close to me. I may look very focused and competitive during matches, but outside football I am someone who gives a lot of love, attention, and effort to the people I care about. That emotional side is an important part of who I am and also one of the reasons why I fight so hard in football.
